Cumulant AI, Inc. (“Cumulant,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Cumulant Public Safety Portal and related websites, pages, applications, and services that link to this Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and the choices available to users of the Cumulant Public Safety Portal.
1. Overview
Cumulant builds tools that help communities and public decision makers understand street safety using real-world roadway evidence. Our public portal is designed to present location-specific safety findings, reviewed supporting evidence, and related study information.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use the portal for targeted advertising. We do not use face recognition. We do not use automated license plate recognition. We do not intentionally identify individuals from street-observation media.
The public portal may include reviewed video clips, images, maps, summaries, or findings from public street environments. Street-observation media may incidentally include people, vehicles, buildings, homes, license plates, or other activity visible from public rights-of-way.
2. Scope of This Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to the Cumulant Public Safety Portal and other Cumulant-operated online services that link to this policy.
This policy does not apply to websites, platforms, or services operated by cities, public agencies, community organizations, or other third parties, even if they link to or reference Cumulant.
3. Information We Collect
We collect limited information needed to operate, secure, debug, and improve the portal.
Information collected from public visitors
When someone visits the portal, we may collect basic technical and operational information, such as:
- IP address
- Browser type
- Device type
- Operating system
- Pages viewed
- Referring page or link
- Date and time of access
- General usage logs
- Error, performance, and security logs
We use this information to operate the site, detect errors, prevent abuse, maintain security, and understand whether the portal is functioning properly.
Account and sign-in information
Most public users do not need to sign in to view public portal pages.
If you sign in, including through Google authentication, we may collect information needed to authenticate your account and manage access, such as:
- Email address
- Name
- Profile image, if provided by the authentication provider
- Account identifier
- Session information
- Role or permission information
- Login timestamps and security logs
We use this information to authenticate users, manage authorized access, protect the service, and support administrative functions.
We do not use Google sign-in information for targeted advertising. We do not sell Google user data. We do not use Google sign-in to access Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, or other Google account content unless we separately request and disclose that access.
Support communications
If you contact us, we may collect your email address, name, message content, and any other information you choose to provide. We use this information to respond to your request, investigate concerns, provide support, and improve the portal.
Newsletter or update sign-ups
If we offer a newsletter, project update, or similar opt-in communication, we may collect your email address and any preferences you provide. We will use that information to send the communications you requested. You may unsubscribe from those communications using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us.
We do not currently require newsletter sign-up to view public portal content.
Resident reports
The current public portal does not collect resident-submitted street safety reports, free-text incident reports, photos, names, phone numbers, or resident contact information.
If Cumulant later enables resident reporting features, we will update this Privacy Policy or provide additional disclosures describing what information is collected, how it is used, and whether it may be shared or published.
4. Street-Observation Media and Safety Evidence
Cumulant may collect, receive, process, store, or publish media and metadata related to public street environments. This may include:
- Video clips
- Images or thumbnails
- Site locations
- Camera locations or fields of view
- Timestamps
- Clip metadata
- Roadway event labels
- Safety findings
- Study summaries
- Derived statistics or visualizations
This information is used to identify roadway safety patterns, support site-specific findings, and help residents, city staff, and decision makers understand observed safety conditions.
Street-observation media may incidentally capture people, vehicles, homes, businesses, license plates, or other activity visible from public streets or public rights-of-way.
Cumulant does not use face recognition or automated license plate recognition. Cumulant does not intentionally identify individuals from street-observation media. Cumulant does not publish evidence for the purpose of targeting, shaming, tracking, or identifying private individuals.
Public evidence clips are selected to support street-safety findings. At this stage, some evidence clips may not be fully redacted. We review public evidence before publication and aim to avoid publishing content whose primary purpose or effect would be to identify a private individual rather than illustrate a roadway safety issue.
Public evidence is intended to present visual street-safety context rather than audio. If source media includes audio, Cumulant works to remove, disable, mute, or minimize audio before or during publication.
If you believe portal content includes private, identifying, sensitive, or inappropriate information, please contact us at [email protected].
5. How We Use Information
We may use information for the following purposes:
- To operate and maintain the public portal
- To authenticate users and manage authorized access
- To publish and display street-safety findings
- To support public understanding of roadway safety conditions
- To debug errors and improve site reliability
- To investigate technical issues, abuse, or security events
- To respond to user questions or privacy concerns
- To manage study pages, evidence publication, and administrative workflows
- To comply with legal obligations
- To protect the rights, safety, and security of Cumulant, users, partners, and the public
We aim to collect and use only the information reasonably necessary for these purposes.
6. Error Monitoring, Logs, and Diagnostics
We may use limited error monitoring, logging, and diagnostic tools to understand when the portal is not working correctly and to help engineering teams repair issues.
When an error occurs, our systems may collect or generate:
- Error messages
- Browser and device information
- Page URL
- Timestamp
- Request ID
- Trace ID
- Error report ID
- Logged-in user email or account ID, if applicable
- Server or API logs related to the error
We use this information to troubleshoot, secure, and improve the portal. We do not use error monitoring information for targeted advertising.
We do not currently use session replay tools on public portal pages. Our error monitoring approach is intended to capture technical error information, not record full user browsing sessions.
We configure diagnostic systems to limit unnecessary personal information. We also aim to avoid collecting authentication tokens, passwords, sensitive account credentials, private message content, full request payloads, signed media URLs, or other sensitive technical secrets unless necessary to investigate security or reliability issues.
7. How We Share Information
We may share limited information with service providers that help us operate the portal. These may include providers for:
- Cloud hosting
- Database services
- File and media storage
- Authentication
- Email delivery
- Error monitoring
- Logging
- Security
- Analytics or performance monitoring, if enabled
- Customer support
These providers process information on our behalf to help us operate and secure the portal.
We may also share information with public agency partners, study sponsors, or project collaborators when necessary to conduct a roadway safety study, publish findings, manage deployments, or respond to project-related concerns.
We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, court order, government request, or to protect rights, safety, security, or the integrity of the service.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for targeted advertising.

We do not currently use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, session replay tools, or cross-site tracking technologies.
If we add analytics or similar tools, we will configure them to support site reliability and product improvement rather than targeted advertising, and we will update this policy if our practices materially change.
Most browsers allow users to control cookies through browser settings. Blocking certain cookies may affect sign-in or other site functionality.
10. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the portal, support roadway safety studies, maintain records, troubleshoot issues, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service.
Different categories of information may be retained for different periods depending on operational, legal, contractual, and technical needs.
We do not currently promise a fixed deletion period for all street-observation media or derived safety findings. As our platform matures, we expect to develop more specific retention and deletion practices.
11. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration.
